Thank You, Nathan

Redbacks and Adelaide Strikers spinner Nathan Lyon took 5 for 34 on his Test debut against Sri Lanka

.... for preventing me from writing two India posts in a row. Keep going boy, and don't ever think of leaving SA.
BTW here's Greyblazer's preview of the Australian bowling attack, he'd have picked Lyon over Beer as well, but suspected Aus would pick Beer ^^

So, yeah, as you can see, I'm still alive, kind of :)

Hey! What's wrong in writing two consecutive posts on India? :P

Anyways on a more serious note, Lyon looks good from what little I've seen. Amused me that he has played just a handful of FC matches and the way he performed against Sri Lankan batsmen. They play spin exceptionally well! And I do mean exceptionally well!

Sorry, sweet - he's a spinner. He'll be off the Sydney before you know it.

CHris> The fact that we play spin well is actually a myth. We have struggled against top class spinners whenever we have been under pressure. Even at home. Lyon bowled well in the 1st innings but struggled in the 2nd, welcome to test cricket.

Wes, how about a link back buddy. Already added you !

The people I've talked to are actually with damiths here, saying that in the second innings he will be found out already just like Ajantha Mendis, but I say with so little FC experience he's gonna learn some tricks because he is a smart and bold bloke. And uhh he took another wicket ;)

Damiths, great blog. Pleasure adding you!

It was a good test match mainly because Lankan groundsmen decided to prepare a sporting wicket.

Lyon looks ok but he will be tested on flat pitches that won't turn. He is definitely better than Beer though.

As far as Lankan batsmen are concerned Mahela is an all time great player of spin, Sanga is very good, S'weera is good when he decides that defence isn't the only option, Mathews too looks good. The fact though is they had one very bad innings and that was the end of the match.

Also thanks for providing the link to my article!
